MASON WRAY IS HEADED TO COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY

The Newport Rams are please to announce that Mason Wray has committed to Colorado Mesa University. Mason has been an integral part of the Rams senior teams in recent years with the 17 year old being the Rams primary catcher in the 19/20 summer season and was part of the Rams U18 team that finished as Runners Up last season.

Mason has been part of the NxtGen program in the last year, including attending the NxtGen Showcase Tour that attended the AZ Fall Classic and NxtGen U. He has been committed to getting to College and left no stone unturned to make it happen, securing a spot with his preferred college Colorado Mesa; one of the premier programs in the Rocky Mountain Conference.

“Mason has become a huge part of our program in recent years” Rams Head Coach Jared Berman said, “we are excited to see Mason continue his baseball journey and hope we can get on the field soon to help him prepare”

Mason has been a Ram for life. Starting in U12 and playing right through to his final year of juniors last year, Mason has been part of a strong and successful group of players coming through the ranks that include many of our current Rams seniors. Mason becomes the third Ram this year and the fourth active player to commit to college, with Keenan Spence and Lukas Simpson both announcing their commitments in recent months and Kyle Morrison continuing his College Career. Mason will head over to the college mid 2021.

The Newport Rams Baseball Club would also like to pass on our congratulations to Mason’s parents Greg and Julie. Both are dedicated Rams members and provide amazing support for their boys .
